What we buy, and what it costs you
Short version: any vehicle, any condition, anywhere in Kansas City or within about 15 miles of it — and it costs you nothing to find out what yours is worth.
Every one of these is a normal Tuesday for us
If your situation is on this list, you don’t need to explain yourself — just call and we’ll price it.
Junk & scrap car buying
The car that’s been in the driveway so long the grass grew through it. Rusted, stripped, dead — it still has scrap and parts value, and we’ll pay you for it.
Wrecked & totaled vehicles
Insurance declared it a total loss and offered you a number you didn’t love. Get a second quote from us before you accept — it’s free and takes a minute.
Cars without a title
Lost it, never got it, or it’s with a lender you paid off years ago. In most cases your photo ID and the old registration are enough. Ask before you assume you’re stuck.
Non-running cars
Blown engine, failed transmission, seized motor, or it just stopped turning over one morning. It doesn’t need to start, steer, or even have wheels on it.
Free junk car removal
Towing is included on every vehicle we buy and never deducted from your offer. Driveway, alley, backyard, parking garage, side of the road — we’ll get it out.
Trucks, vans & SUVs
Pickups, work vans, box trucks, 4x4s, minivans. Heavier vehicles usually carry more scrap weight, which often means a stronger offer than you’d expect.
Flood & fire damage
Water damage, smoke damage, engine fire. Insurers write these off fast and they’re hard to sell privately — but they still have real salvage value to us.
Abandoned vehicles
Someone left a car on your property, lot, or rental. Call us — we’ll talk through what documentation you need to have it legally removed.
Second-opinion quotes
Already got an offer somewhere else? Tell us the number. If we can beat it we will, and if we honestly can’t, we’ll tell you to take theirs.
What actually determines your offer
No black box. These are the things we look at when we put a number on your car.
- Year, make and model — drives how much demand there is for used parts off your specific vehicle
- Weight — a good portion of a junk car’s value is simply scrap steel, so heavier vehicles are usually worth more
- Completeness — this is the big one. A car with its engine, transmission and catalytic converter still fitted is worth considerably more than one that’s been picked over
- Condition and damage — what still works, what’s salvageable, what’s only good for scrap
- Current scrap metal prices — these move week to week, which is genuinely why a quote from three months ago won’t hold today
- Location — anywhere in Kansas City or within about 15 miles is covered at no charge; further out, just ask
Be straight with us on the phone and the quote holds. The only reason a price changes at pickup is if the car turns out to be materially different from how it was described — missing an engine, say, or missing its catalytic converter. Describe it accurately and the number we give you is the number you’re paid.
